Óscar Izquierdo Monge graduated as an Industrial Engineer from the University of Valladolid in 2001.
He worked in the automotive industry as a project engineer and quality engineer before joining CIEMAT in 2004.
He now works in the Renewable Energy Division, which is part of the Energy Department. His main focus has been R&D in various areas related to renewable energy, particularly wind energy and flywheel-based storage systems.
Since 2018 his research activities have chiefly focused on electrical microgrids. Óscar has also taken part in a wide variety of research projects both within Spain and abroad.
