Committees

  • International Committee for the Standardization of Wind Turbines (IEC, CAC, SWT), which reports to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC):

TC 88 International Committee on Wind Turbines. The Wind Energy Unit is a member of working group MT-2 (small wind turbines), MT-11 (acoustic noise), MT-12 (power curves), MT-13 (load testing) and MT-23 (blade testing). The work it carries out for each group involves the development of proposals to modify existing standards, based on the studies carried out at CIEMAT.

  • Technological Platform for the Spanish Wind Energy Industry (REOLTEC):

REOLTEC was created in 2005 with the aim of integrating and coordinating activities related to research, development and innovation, in order to respond to the needs of the Spanish wind-energy industry. Its members are drawn from academia, industry, the public sector and technology centres, and its work involves identifying the industry's R&D&I priorities, promoting projects, monitoring and following up the committee’s actions, promoting and publicizing the advances that are made, and marketing innovative products.
